The lack of highways and limited access parkways has created a traffic disaster in Kent. Streets that should have neighborhood level traffic are flooded each day with cross county commuters who have to travel 10, 15, or 25 miles off a highway to get to their destination.

A typical example are the commuters who get off 167 in downtown Kent, then go up Canyon and onto Kent-Kangley just to get to Covington! At this point, it's hard to know what to do, short of turning Kent-Kangley and other arterials that should be highways into actual highways, however, the volume of traffic in neighborhoods approaches highway levels as is and creates an unpleasant and dangerous situation for all!
